Please explain your thought process behind your winning snap:

At first I thought the theme was quite challenging since I realized that I’ve never really taken a proper photo with my Chocobo. What went through my mind while planning the photo was I wanted something to show how long I’ve been adventuring Eorzea with my Chocobo. I realized that since ARR, my chocobo has always been by my side and I wanted to capture the bond we’ve forged through the long time we’ve been in this adventure together. I chose Coerthas Western Highlands as my backdrop for the photo because I remembered seeing a nice little camp there (plus I love the Highland Barding on my chocobo so it was a fitting place to snap the shot). I also made sure to match the colors of my chocobo’s barding to give it a more cohesive look and feel. I positioned everyone in frame and snapped the photo infront of the campfire.

What advice would you give someone who’s interested in getting into GPosing but might not know where to start?

An advice I can share is find something that you usually enjoy doing in game and start taking photos of that. I think what got me into GPose is exploring Eorzea with friends and just snapping photos of the fun moments I shared with them. I little by little learned what works with what situation, what angle is best, and what emotes to use too! It’s also good to try to play around with all the settings of the Gpose feature. Click all the buttons and see what they actually do. I think it will help you a lot and make you feel more confident when you know what the functions of the buttons are. If you’re taking photos with friends, remember that you can select each party member and freeze their actions individually so you can get that perfect pose for the scene you are shooting. And last but not the least, keep on shooting! You only get better at taking photos if you keep on practicing.

Your best memory taking screenshots is?

Actually one of my best memories with taking screenshots is the one I won for the February Challenge! I was really surprised at the outcome and how the photo felt so warm for me. I was really happy with the result of I’m glad that I pushed myself to take that shot.

Please explain your thought process behind your winning snap:

Theme was chocobo, and I love mine, I always thought he is the cutest. He wears Titania Barding and his feathers are Ice Blue so I knew I wanted something that fitted those. I decided to shoot this in front of Titania’s castle for the background. The better way to show my love for him was with a kiss. Got close to him, tilted his head down, mine up and use the “bouche en Coeur” emote expression to simulate a kiss on his beak. I also searched for the best shader possible. I wanted the picture to be soft and pastel. Used the white transluscent border to frame a bit a add focus to the characters.

What advice would you give someone who’s interested in getting into GPosing but might not know where to start?

Don’t be afraid to experiment. Try different poses, different angles, different lightning. Everything is not going to be perfect at the first time. Like everything you’ll improve with time. And there is always going to be someone who likes your work, no matter if you like it or not. Keep faith in yourself! Most importantly : Have Fun!

Please explain your thought process behind your winning snap:

When I get the February screehshot contest, I already have in mind several ideas. First I tried to get some screen in a colorful location, but there I couldn’t dismounted, so I changed my mind and create a new glamour for me and my chocobo (that is my companion since 2016) and I thought that East Shroud, near The Temple of the Seventh had the right color and atmosphere. My idea was to recreate a walk with my companion, a sort of complicity between us. Well, I took so many screenshots that is was hard to pick one. In the end, one of that several screenshots became my new wallpaper.

What advice would you give someone who’s interested in getting into GPosing but might not know where to start?

The best advice that I could give them is to try. Try to Gposing, play with the lights, camera positions, all the tools that Gpose have. I started to touch everything, try everything. I learned watching a friend of my Free Company too. She is really good with Gposing, and during a streaming on Discord, we spent an evening taking stupid screenshots. That day I learned to stop the emote of my characters, searchin’ the right pose, the right angles. With my sister we learned to use Gshade and some Matrix Tool function. We learned trying, with our mistakes and I’m sure that anyone else can take Gpose screenshots with this mood.

Your best memory taking screenshots is?

I was with my friend (my husband in game) and we spent a Saturday morning taking screenshots of our character. Every time we took a screenshot, we exchanged them in Discord. In the end, he had to create a new folder in his PC with all the images that we took. Even now some of them are my favorite.

My thought for this is being dressed up together with the Chocobo being the classic warrior of light with the iconic crystal tower in the background to pay homage to the classic final fantasy

What advice would you give someone who’s interested in getting into GPosing but might not know where to start?

I think its best to start with simply just using GPOSE, like start everything in vanilla and get to know the features and the gimmicks of the program included in the game. From there little by little you check on framing, lighting, photo composition and overall feel of the photo you would like to create. Upon learning the basics, it gets easier to expand more onto the editing with photos using other programs. Don’t just jump ship into programs just because it looked nice, cause with out the basics sometimes even the most modded photo will look awkward. Also my thought in all of this is the small progression on your own growth with your style of shots is really satisfying and by trying to master the basics is the key on getting a good photo.

Your best memory taking screenshots is?

My best memory is organizing a group concept photo shoot (ie. Nier shoot, Cosplay Attack on Titan shoot, PLD only shoot,…) with people I met in game. They are all now good friends whom I met online and have a similar hobbies on taking SS in game of their characters and friends.

Please explain your thought process behind your winning snap:

When I started making the photo, the first thought that came to my mind was: “Here I have to enhance the chocobo, he is the protagonist”. Consequently, initially I looked for a costume on him with which he could be in tune with the surrounding environment, the environment also had to be an environment surrounded by nature and bright. In fact, another aspect that I considered a lot was the brightness, the right brightness with the right angle at the right time of the day can make you a mediocre photo a beautiful photo! Last thing I tried to create a shot in which the chocobo had a nice pose and with which the character could interact without covering or overshadowing him.

What advice would you give someone who’s interested in getting into GPosing but might not know where to start?

My first advice is to highlight the protagonist of the contest, I have seen many gpose of other competitions in which it was not clear what the topic was, or it was overshadowed, and the protagonist seemed something else. My second tip is to enhance the brightness and angle of the photo. These elements really make the difference and even those who do not have a super-performing computer or do not use mods can get excellent results.

Your best memory taking screenshots is?

Probably the day of my eternal bonding… the emotion was realy strong… I think was the day I made more screenshot since I started playing Final Fantasy.
